Description
A small goose with three sub-species, these birds adapted to eating sea lettuce in 1931 when where was a blight on its regular food supply of eelgrass.
This print is part of a series of Music Bird Paintings, featuring watercolour and ink illustrations of different species of birds on aged, acid-free music sheets. These prints measure 5”x7”, are printed by inkjet onto FSC (Forest Sustainability Certified) paper with a textured, linen weave to help bring out the colour and the detail.
This is part of my “Print & Plant” initiative, where each Music Bird Print sold equates to one tree being planted by Tree Canada. To date, over 85 trees have been planted since 2019.
