Melissa’s studio is located in a small seaside village of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is a place where beautiful things are imagined, cultivated and created.
Inspirations for her designs often originate from natural forms, based on feeling and combined with an unusual organic sense of beauty. Many of the textures and nuances in Melissa’s jewellery are the reaction to the direct hands on process which is achieved by carving wax or mark making by hammering and stamping.
Melissa is a BFA graduate from NSCAD, majoring in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing. After spending years honing her skills as a goldsmith for several boutique jewellery stores and encouragement from her supportive husband, Melissa opened her own studio.
Melissa is currently working on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada and raising her 3 prairie kids to swim in the sea, soak up the fresh air and rejoice in the small things.
She is a member of Co-Adorn Art Jewellery Society, Secretary for the Petite Riviere Art and Craft Society, a member of The Shorebirds Collective and a volunteer fire fighter with the Petite Riviere Volunteer Fire Department.
