Description
Named for their partially webbed feet, these tiny shoreline-feeding birds have breeding grounds on the shores of Northern Canada and Alaska. Like killdeer birds, they employ a “broken wing” tactic to trick predators.
This print is part of a series of Music Bird Paintings, featuring watercolour and ink illustrations of different species of birds on aged, acid-free music sheets. These prints measure 5”x7”, are printed by inkjet onto FSC (Forest Sustainability Certified) paper with a textured, linen weave to help bring out the colour and the detail.
This is part of my “Print & Plant” initiative, where each Music Bird Print sold equates to one tree being planted by Tree Canada. To date, over 85 trees have been planted since 2019.
